Day 1: Hanoi – Cuc Phuong National Park (L,D) ( biking 40 km )
From Hanoi to Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s first national park, is renowned for its biodiversity and lush, tropical forests. Spanning over 22,000 hectares, the park is home to a variety of wildlife, including rare primates, birds, and reptiles. Cycling through Cuc Phuong is an immersive experience that brings you close to nature. The park’s winding trails lead you through dense jungle, past ancient trees, and alongside clear streams. You may even spot some of the park’s wildlife, such as langurs and flying squirrels. . Overnight in the guesthouse.
Day2: Cuc Phuong – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc (B,L) ( biking 45 km )
The Journey: Cuc Phuong to Tam Coc
The ride from Cuc Phuong to Tam Coc is approximately 40 kilometers, offering a mix of challenging climbs and leisurely rides through picturesque landscapes. As you leave the forested area of Cuc Phuong, the scenery gradually changes to open fields and rural villages. The journey is a perfect opportunity to experience the everyday life of the Vietnamese countryside, with its rice paddies, water buffaloes, and friendly locals.
Highlights Along the Route
One of the highlights of this cycling route is the opportunity to visit the Van Long Nature Reserve. This wetland area is a protected reserve that boasts incredible biodiversity, including the endangered Delacour’s langur. The reserve is a serene and tranquil spot, perfect for a break from cycling. You can take a boat ride through the reserve, gliding past limestone cliffs and lush vegetation. Drive back to Hanoi.
