Mist drifts through the saddles before sunrise, farmers in conical nón lá hats pluck still-dewy tips, and red-earthed single-track threads every slope. • October–December – Crisp 18–26 °C, harvest underway, clearest dawn mists.
• February–April – Tea flush emerges neon-green, cool 15–25 °C, occasional light rain good for dramatic clouds.
  Avoid late July–early September if typhoon remnants sweep inland; storms can fell bamboo across tracks.

8. Environmental & Ethical Riding

Tea bushes are livelihood, not landscaping. Ride only existing paths; dismount if farmers shoulder baskets across the trail. Keep tire pressure moderate (≈ 18–20 psi tubeless) to reduce rutting. Pack out all wrappers—bins are rare outside hamlets. If curious about leaf sampling, ask first; a lost bud is essentially lost wages. Many locals burn trimmed branches at dusk; give wide berth and use lights because smoke can obscure switchbacks.
