Long Coc Tea Hills-A Two-Day E-Mountain

A Hidden Sea of Green, Only a Short Spin From the Capital

Slip beyond Hà Nội’s swirl of motorbikes and office towers and, in barely three hours, you can be standing on a quiet ridgetop surrounded by a thousand shades of jade. Long Cốc Tea Hills—known locally as Đồi chè Long Cốc—sits in Thanh Sơn District, Phú Thọ Province, roughly 120 km northwest of the capital. From dawn to late afternoon the contiguous domes of manicured tea bushes ripple like an emerald ocean. Mist drifts through the saddles before sunrise, farmers in conical nón lá hats pluck still-dewy tips, and red-earthed single-track threads every slope. For e-mountain-bikers, the area offers the rare combination of effortless logistics (sealed highway approaches, homestays that accept bikes, mobile coverage) and genuinely off-grid sensations once you roll into the rows. It is, quite simply, the best two-day e-MTB loop you can tackle on a weekend out of Hà Nội without feeling rushed.

8. Environmental & Ethical Riding

Tea bushes are livelihood, not landscaping. Ride only existing paths; dismount if farmers shoulder baskets across the trail. Keep tire pressure moderate (≈ 18–20 psi tubeless) to reduce rutting. Pack out all wrappers—bins are rare outside hamlets. If curious about leaf sampling, ask first; a lost bud is essentially lost wages. Many locals burn trimmed branches at dusk; give wide berth and use lights because smoke can obscure switchbacks.
